Where the Journey Begins

Decodify was created by Michelle Pranger, a veteran special education teacher and structured literacy specialist with more than two decades of experience in special education and literacy instruction. Her commitment to evidence-aligned instruction, along with her ongoing work as a committee member of the Connecticut Dyslexia Awareness Collaborative (CT-DAC), an initiative of the Connecticut State Department of Education’s Office of Dyslexia and Reading Disabilities, reflects the values at the heart of the Decodify approach.

From One Room to Many

What began in 2021 as a classroom tool designed to rebuild skills and confidence quickly grew into a comprehensive, structured literacy system. Inspired by student progress and the need for clear, consistent practice across MTSS tiers 1–3. Decodify is a 12-level supplemental literacy toolkit which was developed to support learners across elementary, middle, and high school who need structured opportunities to practice and apply literacy skills.

Bringing Structured Literacy to Life

Michelle continues to teach middle school while serving as the founder and CEO of Decodify™. Guided by the belief that “The mind remembers best what the heart enjoys,” she equips educators with a rigorous, joyful pathway for decoding, morphology, comprehension, and language development. Designed as a supplemental toolkit, Decodify™ enhances and strengthens core literacy instruction without replacing a district’s primary curriculum.
Note: “Decodify™ strengthens core instruction — it does not replace a school’s primary literacy curriculum.”
